Companies in any given industry use software solutions from different vendor or develop their own. Traditionally the major stakeholders in an industry collaborate to develop open interoperable standards for information exchange to connect these different solutions. Interoperability is the ability to exchange information between disparate systems and use the information exchanged.
The combination of software solutions and information exchange creates a collaborative framework.
In contrast, the majority of organizations in Human Services (nonprofit sector) do not have software solutions, either because a software solution has not been developed for their application or they cannot afford the solutions that are. Thus the sector is not prepared to electronically exchange information which underscores both the need and the opportunity.
Partnership for Human Services is building and deploying a framework which includes software solutions and information exchange.
Human Services is not without technology. There are many excellent products from many experienced vendors, the majority of which are targeted at larger organizations. Our target audience is the small and medium sized organizations that do not have and cannot afford these applications. Likewise, there are also many excellent website systems but none that provide free design or long-term low cost assistance.
Partnership for Human Services does not own software but we do work to ensure that information exchange is open and free. We are working to build an application rich framework for Human Services. We are looking for technology partners that share our vision and want to help us provide applications and services to small and medium sized organizations working in Human Services. As we expand the number of technology partners and the number of applications we will move toward standards.
